San Francisco Opera Guild Thanks Benefactors at Annual Luncheon

San Francisco Opera Guild held its Annual Luncheon on January 28, in the stunning Golden Gate Room at the Westin St. Francis Hotel. Founded in 1939 as an opera education organization, the Opera Guild welcomed its biggest Board of Directors and boosters to its annual celebration of music and the performing arts. The stylish guests enjoyed an elegant lunch of Citrus Brined Chicken Breast with Chive and Lemon Risotto, while sipping Bon Vivant Brut sparkling wine. The afternoon’s program included a captivating conversation between former Opera Guild board president Jane Hartley and Jon Finck, former head of press and communications at San Francisco Opera.

The event highlight was, of course, a musical one: a performance of excerpts from Rossini’s La Cenerentola performed by Opera Together teaching artists tenor Andrew Truett and mezzo-soprano Phoebe Dinga, accompanied by pianist Paul Dab. San Francisco Opera Guild’s education programs reach thousands of arts lovers of all ages in K–12 classrooms and after-school programs, as well as employing opera experts to share the beauty of this art form through the Opera Previews series, and in-school and community programming for children as young as kindergarten.
